Audi car key battery

For the last couple of weeks. My Audi S3 has been moaning about its key battery being weak.

So after getting back from our holidays, I changed the battery of my key. I've already done this for the S3 and the A5 before, so I know how.

Three weeks later, the car is still moaning. I even changed the battery again, though knowing it wasn't that, as it was a good-name battery and not an Aliexpress cheapo model.

The forums say, lock your car, long press, then short press, place your key near the lock, and lots of other dopey things to do like that ....

Nothing worked. So finally I dropped in to my local garage, and one of the guys whom I knew well, straight away said. "Change the battery on the other key". Now that key hasn't left the house since we've got back from our holidays, and strangely enough, is hardly ever used.

Anyway, I changed the battery, started the car 15 mins later, and lo and behold, that infuriating message had disappeared

So, no miracle or clever formula. Just change both (if, of course, you have two keys) at the same time. Even the Audi handbook doesn't suggest this.

A lot of pratting about for nothing.
