Favero Assioma MX-2 power meter pedals - A quick review
After riding my road bike for the last six months or so with a Sram Power Crank and seeing the data that I get on my Garmin or Sram accounts, I decided that I wanted the same on my MTB
So I have just splashed out and bought the Favero Assioma MX-2 power meter pedals for my Van Nicholas Tuareg MTB. Here
They are expensive, hic, so (don't tell my wife, she'll kill me ....)

Today I went for my first ride with them, August 2025
The verdict is, I love them. They 'wear', 'fit', clip in, just like the regular XTR pedals that I use on all my bikes, though slightly heavier.
The data I receive is similar to the data I already have with the SRAM power crank on my road bike, except they also have Cycling Dynamics, very useful indeed; I can see it on my Garmin and Strava accounts.
Do I really need all this data? In a sense, no, at 67 years old, I'm not racing, so it's not needed for anything except personal use, but every time I ride, I like to check to see if I'm doing better than the last ride, or worse, power-wise. So in a sense, it is useful.
So now I have power meter data for my mountain bike as well as my road bike.
On Strava, I check this data for every ride. The only thing 'wrong' or rather annoying, is that the Strava AI compares my average power against my Road and the MTB rides and states, "your average power was lower than usual..." Which is normal, as two different bikes, and you don't ride the same way.
Don't get me wrong, I love the AI as it's extremely useful concerning my rides. And to be honest, very clever.
I've ridden twice this week on my Van Nicholas MTB, the pedals clip and feel as good as the XTR. The data is really perfect. My Garmin Epix watch and the Edge 350 bike computer both see them straight away. In fact, far better than the Sram Crank. I really do like them
Fitted on my Van Nicholas Tuareg MTB
They are expensive, but who cares? You only live once
